The History of the Athelington Lodge:
In Summer 2003, we acquired the first two log cabins. We named these Chestnut and Willow, which began our five-cabin project, the Athelington Lodges. The following Easter of 2004 we then acquired the next two log cabins, Beech and Oak. The last cabin of the five-cabin project, Ash, was then introduced in the Easter of 2005, which made the initial project complete.
The Future of the Athelington Lodge:
Over the years small improvements have happened inside these lodges. We made the kitchen/ dining and living area open plan by removing a centre wall, this really helped make the cabin free more modern and spacious. But now comes the biggest improvement to date! A new spacious veranda is to be built and the hot tub will be sunken into it. We are decorating throughout, painting the walls in a light grey, wall mounting the TV and also installing a dishwasher.
Our Progress:
We have already completed cabin Ash. This cabin has been renamed The Athelington Lodge Plus and is bookable via our Availability page. We are continuing the journey with Willow next and plan for all 5 cabins to be completed by Winter 2023. Watch this space!
