Things to do in February Half term

February half term isn’t far away now. For those of you who have booked to stay with us, we thought we would give you a few ideas of things to do when you visit. Not all include children, so if you just happen to be staying with us during half term, there is plenty for adults to do too.

Get crafty

Just add kids are holding a couple of events during half term, one of which is only 5 minutes away in the local village of Stradbroke. On February 20thfrom 10am-12, they are holding a craft café. There will be slime making for £4 as well as free crafts, cake being sold to raise money for the local primary school and weather permitting the doors will be open to enjoy the new play park too. A great, fun, local event.

Get into nature

RSPB Minsemere on the Suffolk coast has a Wild Zone and wild Wood Adventure Area. The Wild Zone has some great acitivites which include a play tree and child sized nests. When you go to the Wild Wood, you can search for minibeasts or build your own den. This is a great place to explore the beautiful Suffolk countryside and explore the wildlife who live there.

Get helping

On the 19thFeburary, Suffolk Wildlife Trust are holding an event where you can make your own bird feeder. This is from 2.30-4 at Pikes Meadow, IP14 2AN. You make your own birdfeeder to take away and then you can watch the birds in your garden at home.

Get exploring

Ickworth House near Bury St Edmunds is surrounded by beautiful grounds. At this time of year these beautiful grounds are covered in snowdrops. If you fancy getting out in nature and seeing some natural beauty this is a great place to try. This beautiful National Trust property has gardens, parkland, woods and a children’s play area to explore. There’s also a plant and garden shop, a shop and 3 different cafes. Once you have finished exploring you can relax with tea and cake. Lovely.
